2020 Hunting Report

Dear Hunters,

As all or most of you know, there was no 2020 guiding season in the NWT for anyone, resident or non-resident.  Ginger, myself and a small crew did get to go to camp and spend 2 1/2 months doing improvements and repairs.  We had the helicopter in for most of that time.  We accomplished some great things as well as spending some great time out on the mountain.  I did quite a bit of flying and the animals all looked great.  The lamb and calf crop looked extra strong.  Although this year has been disappointing and challenging for the industry and and ourselves, we are confident that 2021 and the future will be awesome.  We are ahead of schedule on preparations for our 2021 and look forward to seeing you all in the years to come.

Wishing you all good health, wealth and adventure in the New Year.

Good Hunting,

Griz, Ginger and the Raven's Throat Crew

2018 Hunting Report

Thank you for your interest in hunting with us in the incredible MacKenzie Mountains. 2018 was another amazing season. We had lots and lots of challenging weather. The old timers said it was the worst weather they'd seen in 40-50 years. With that being said, huge thanks to our tenacious, hardworking guides and crew, as well as a super group of hunters. We kicked butt!!

2017 Hunting Report

What a ride after two years of ups and downs, negotiations and re-negotiations. It happened - Raven’s Throat Outfitters was born. A lifelong dream came true. We are still in awe of our 1st year operating in the MacKenzie Mountains. We’ve been blessed in so many ways it’s hard to count.

First, the incredible opportunity to share and be a steward of this incredible concession in the heart of historic Sahtu and Dehcho native lands; we can’t thank them enough and can only promise to protect and honor this special place. Second, our incredible crew. Without their dedication, their astounding hard work, commitment to our team and creating a family that shares the love of this land and profession as much as we do, none of our success would have been possible. We thank them for their tireless efforts and look forward to many years together. To our clients, who make it all possible for without them we aren’t doing what we love to do. We had such an amazing group of hunters. They all appreciated not only the animals in this beautiful country, but the country, the hunt, each other and our efforts. They could all come back every year and we would all be set for life.
